Keep reading…A day in the life…Wondering what a day in the life of a Revenue Cycle Representative II at The Iowa Clinic might look like?Claims Denials and Follow-UpPerform timely follow-up on underpaid or denied claims using internal systems, payer websites, and phone calls. Review and resolve denied claims per payer policies through corrected claims, reconsiderations, or appeals. Demonstrate capacity to work across a variety of queues, including multiple plans/payers and diverse denial types. Review complex cases requiring detailed analysis of documentation and payer policies that could include making updates to billed charges or diagnosis as supported in medical records. Provide applicable medical records to payers to support billing and adjudication as needed. Meet production expectations while maintaining high quality and reducing denied or pending claims. Payer & Industry ExpertiseMonitor industry updates and payer-specific policies; share relevant information with team and leadership. Team Collaboration & Professional StandardsDemonstrate professionalism, maintain confidentiality, and promote a positive impression of the organization. Ensure compliance in coding updates, patient, and financial information. Support overall workload of the denial team as needed. Work collaboratively with team members and leadership in a shared office environment to support communication, training, and operational efficiency. This job might be for you if…EducationHigh school diploma or equivalentQualificationsMinimum 2 years of experience working in a medical office or billing environment with medical billing, denials and insurance collections required. Previous experience working in a medical office and a working knowledge of revenue cycle and payer denial practices. Awareness of medical terminology required.
