Rover Building Engineer
The Rover / Floating Building Engineer is responsible for maintaining, operating, and repairing building systems across two assigned locations, providing coverage 2 days per week at Location A and 3 days per week at Location B. This role ensures all building systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with company and regulatory standards. For information about ABM's benefits, visit ABMABM Employee Benefits - FrontlineEssential Duties & ResponsibilitiesPerform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, and mechanical systemsRespond to service requests and troubleshoot issues in a timely mannerPerform preventive maintenance tasks to reduce downtime and extend equipment lifeMonitor building automation systems and adjust as neededMaintain accurate records of work orders, repairs, and maintenance activitiesCoordinate with vendors and service providers as neededEnsure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and company policiesMaintain a professional presence and provide excellent customer service to tenants and site contactsSupport special projects, after-hours work, or emergency response as requiredQualificationsValid driver's license and ability to travel between assigned locationHigh school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school preferredMinimum 3-5 years of building engineering or facilities maintenance experienceStrong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systemsEPA Universal Certification preferred (or ability to obtain)Strong problem-solving and communication skillsAbility to work independently and manage responsibilities across multiple sitesPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 lbsAbility to climb ladders, kneel, bend, and stand for extended periodsAbility to work in mechanical rooms, rooftops, and other facility-related environmentsWe may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses.
