Team Lead - Transmission

About the PositionThe Team Lead - Transmission Engineer will manage teams of various sizes comprised of engineers, drafters, designers, and/or technicians. A Team Lead's primary responsibility will be the accurate, timely, and quality completion of transmission engineering scopes assigned to the team. The Team Lead will assist in the development of the departments Standard Best Practices (SBPs) and enforcing / implementing them where pertinent. Team Leads will be a mentor and coach to employees on their team and help them continually develop as professionals.This opportunity is available to both local / in-office (Lakewood, Colorado) and full-time remote candidates.Essential ResponsibilitiesOversees project planning, scheduling, and coordination, for small to large scale projects assigned to the teamAssigns work to and coordinates work with engineers, designers, or administrative staffProvides technical assistance and training for junior engineersPerforms and manages the detailed design of overhead transmission lines and distribution linesReviews the work of other engineers, designers, drafters, and field service personnel for general quality and accuracyManages and supports team member development and growth through individualized development plans.Produces and reviews full design packages including plan and profile drawings, pole assembly details, pole grounding/guying details, steel framing details, structure loading diagrams or structure design and fabrication details, foundation design and construction details, and supporting calculation packagesPrepares a variety of documents and reports associated with projects including cost estimates, budget reports, proposals, and studiesSupports business development, assists with marketing tasks, and prepares proposals as neededAssists with client contacts and communications pertaining to specific assignments and meetingsDevelops and maintain outstanding company-client relationshipsMaintains high ethical and professional standardsAttends conferences, training workshops, seminars, regular undergraduate and graduate classes as appropriate for advancement and as required to maintain quality of workAttends safety training and adhere to all safety rules and guidelinesOther responsibilities as assignedMust HaveExperience: 5+ years of engineering or relevant field experienceEducation: BSCE or BSCET from an accredited institution, civil/structural or mechanical option preferredLicensure: FE or PE preferredA strong written and verbal command of the English languageApplicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basisExpert with PLS-CADD with knowledge in optimum spotter and finite spotter a plusProficient with AutoCADNice to HaveProficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and other computer softwareStrong understanding of structural analysis; including steel, wood, and concrete designWorking ConditionsWork Environment:Work is performed in either the home or corporate office setting. Some field work is also requiredTravel:Typical: 5 - 15%Physical Activities:Must be able to lift 25lbs.Managerial Responsibility:The Team Lead is responsible for managing their own work and schedule and the work and schedule of their team with input from supervisor.
