Canine Behavior Apprentice

I’m looking for someone to become an essential part of a growing dog behavior business. This is an opportunity to apprentice in a unique approach to dog psychology, leadership, and behavior while helping build something meaningful. This isn’t a typical dog job. We’re not interested in simply entertaining dogs or wearing them out. Everything we do is intentional. Through structure, movement, clear communication, and calm leadership, we help dogs become more fulfilled, balanced, and confident. I’m looking for someone who either has, or wants to develop, exceptional instincts with dogs. Someone who naturally tracks patterns, notices body language, subtle changes in behavior, and understands that real leadership is calm, consistent, and fair. Just as important, I’m looking for someone who is committed to their own personal growth. The best dog handlers are always working on themselves. They value humility, emotional awareness, patience, and continuous learning because dogs respond to who we are just as much as what we do. This is a role for someone who wants to become exceptional, not someone who’s simply looking for a job working with dogs. Your Responsibilities Learning and practicing my approach to dog psychology, behavior, and calm leadership. Safely handling dogs in structured group settings with consistency, awareness, and confidence. Assisting with daily adventures including hiking, biking, swimming, treadmill work, obstacle courses, and enrichment activities. Helping dogs settle into calm, balanced states through quiet, structured downtime. Picking up and dropping off dogs safely and professionally. Preparing meals for the dogs. Cleaning, organizing, and maintaining a welcoming environment. Greeting clients and building positive, professional relationships. Anticipating what needs to be done and taking initiative without being asked. Ordering supplies, going grocery shopping and helping keep the business organized and running smoothly. Assisting with property maintenance, including watering the vegetable garden, pulling weeds, repairing equipment and seasonal tasks like shoveling snow. Helping with general household and business tasks that keep the day running efficiently. Supporting the day-to-day operations of a growing small business and pitching in wherever needed.
