This posting is for the Director of Teaching and Learning for the Chehalis School District. This is a Certificated, Exempt, Non-Represented position. The position is 227 days per year, including holidays. This position will NOT work the month of July, Winter Break or Spring Break. This position is open until filled. This role translates district strategy into operational excellence in curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional learning.Essential Job Functions:Facilitate curriculum development, adoption, implementation, and alignment across content areasCoordinate districtwide instructional improvement initiativesDesign, implement, and track professional development systemsCoordinate building instructional leadership teamsOversee assessment systems and serve as the district assessment coordinatorSupport teachers and administrators with effective data useSupport academic MTSS systems and partner with Student Support to align intervention systemsOrganize district committees as assignedMonitor programs and professional development around student success and belongingServe as an instructional resource to principals and teacher leadersCollaborate across departments to ensure integrated instructional systemsResponsible for instructional grant applications and management through OSPI's EGMS systemWork collaboratively with staff to support grants and categorical programs including LAP, Title programs, and Multilingual Learner servicesCoordinate with staff for the planning and implementation of summer programsSuccessful Experience Preferred:As a program administrator, an instructional coach, or curriculum leader at elementary or secondary grade levelsDeveloping early warning systems and working with data systemsManaging complex budgets and coordinating grant-funded educational projectsAssisting with professional development programsFacilitating positive communication among staff from different buildingsExperience with educational technology integration and innovative instructional practicesJob Requirements - Qualifications:Master's Degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Leadership, or related field requiredValid Washington State Teaching CertificateMinimum of seven years prior successful educational experienceDemonstrated expertise in curriculum development, instructional leadership, and educational program managementFingerprint/Background clearanceFamiliarity with Washington state's educational mandates, school improvement efforts, and comprehensive assessment systemsReports to: Executive Director of Student AchievementPhysical and Mental Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and hear. The employee is often required to stand; walk; use hands to operate equipment; and reach. The employee may occasionally need to lift and/or move light objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Mental demands include attention to details, confidentiality, problem solving, language, stress, training, reasoning, meeting deadlines, and multiple concurrent tasks.Compensation and Benefits:The District complies with State Law regarding SEBB (School Employee Benefits Board) and DRS (Washington State Department of Retirement Systems) eligibility and benefits. If eligible, SEBB benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, long-term disability, AD&D Insurance, Flexible Spending Arrangements (FSA), and Dependent Care Assistance Program (DCAP). Retirement benefits, if eligible, may include membership in SERS retirement plans in addition to voluntary Deferred Compensation Program and 403(b) Annuity enrollments. Paid time off and VEBA are also benefits outlined in the Unrepresented Employees Group Agreement.Contract: Based on 227 days (July off), to include 215 work days and 12 holidays with a salary range of $115,650-$128,500.
