Sports Complex Field Crew - Weekends

The City of Ankeny has a need for individuals who are interested in helping maintain the sports complex fields and grounds on the weekends.Days/Hours: Saturdays & Sundays; 6:00 am - 2:30 pm or 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm.$14.00/hour - Athletic Field Crew - WeekendsStarts in March and ends late October 2026Please complete an online application as soon as possible until positions are filled.Submit application on at www.ankenyiowa.gov or QR Code:Questions may be directed to Elliott Josephson, Sports Facilities Superintendent, at (515) 963-3577 or ejosephson@ankenyiowa.gov.Maintains all field preparations including marking, dragging, raking, chalking, painting, and moving of goals.Makes regular rounds to inspect conditions, pick up trash, and remove debris from the sports complex grounds.Attends training and safety courses as needed.Assists in division building maintenance to keep buildings and grounds clean and neat appearing.Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructionsAbility to perform manual labor for extended periods under adverse weather conditionsAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the publicMust be 16 years of ageMaintain a valid Iowa driver's licenseWORK ENVIRONMENT:Works in field environment.Requires weekends, holidays and evening hours.Performs outside work in all kinds of weather conditions.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Must be insurable.Must be sighted.Must be able to hear normal conversation.Must be able to speak clearly at normal rate of conversation.Must be able to kneel, squat, stoop, walk and climb stairs.Must be able to lift heavy objects weighing up to 75 pounds and carries for short distances.Must keep regular and reliable attendance at work.
