The Bismarck Larks joined the Northwoods League (NWL) in 2017. The NWL is the largest organized baseball league in the world, with 26 teams, drawing more fans than any league of its kind. The NWL provides top college players from North America and beyond a summer collegiate baseball experience. Over 340 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball in the NWL’s 31-year history.

The Position
The Social Media Manager and Digital Content Creator is responsible for developing and implementing social media strategies that align with the Bismarck Lark’s overall goals and objectives. This role requires an understanding of various social media platforms, trends, best practices, and experience utilizing Adobe Creative Suite. This position will oversee all social media content, engagement, and campaigns across multiple platforms to increase brand awareness, drive fan engagement, and support various revenue streams.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing successful social media campaigns using photos, graphics, videos, and written content.
Roles and Responsibilities
Manage content for all Bismarck Larks social media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X (Twitter), LinkedIn and YouTube
Strategize, create, and maintain engaging content through the use of photos, graphics, video, and written posts tailored to each social media platform
Contribute to strategies to grow social media audiences by continually building and maximizing brand awareness
Assist with the development of content for all marketing and advertising campaigns by working closely with internal departments including but not limited to: tickets, sponsorship, merchandise, events and operations
Ensure a consistent voice and brand identity across all social media channels
Ability to shoot and produce short iPhone video content for digital, social, and editorial distribution
Develop and maintain social media calendar for all platforms
Develop and maintain relationships with influencers and other relevant parties to expand the team's reach and engagement
Ensure the team has an effective response strategy, responding to fan inquiries, comments and messages in a timely and professional manner
Write and produce team coverage stories and features for use on digital and social media platforms
Stay current with industry (sports/social media) trends, best practices and emerging technologies to keep the Bismarck Larks at the forefront of social media growth, impact, engagement and innovation.
Leverage analytics tools to increase social media effectiveness, track overall performance and compile weekly and monthly reporting
Organize and archives videos and photos throughout the season
Assist with the oversight of seasonal media interns
Represent the team at various networking events and participate in other outside, community events, as defined by the team
General Team Responsibilities
Game and Team Event Availability: Expected to be available for all Bismarck Larks home games and team events; this includes weekends and holidays.
Funatix Event Availability: Expected to be available for all Funatix Events, including but not limited to the Mandan Rodeo Days, Bismarck Marathon, company picnics, festivals, etc. A full event list will be provided. This includes weekends and holidays.
Game Day and Event Hours: Expected to be available from mid to late morning through the end of the game and event. The schedule will be decided by the direct supervisor on a homestand and event basis.
Non-Game Day/Event Hours: Expected to attend office hours of 8 AM-5 PM each weekday during season and out-of-season.
Other General Team Responsibilities May Include:
Cleaning and organizing the press box and other ballpark areas.
Assist with ballpark set-up and tear-down before-the-season, after-the-season and during each homestand
Assist with event set-up and tear-down at team events
Help maintain ballpark cleanliness
All other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong understanding of social media platforms
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop)
Proactive planner with a sense of urgency, creativity, style, and attention to detail
Confident decision-maker to execute campaigns
Passionate creator who can develop content with little guideline or instruction
Ability to produce and edit multiple projects simultaneously and independently and produce high-quality output within specific time constraints and in a fast-paced environment
Strong understanding of social media, trends, and creative writing
Strong marketing and content strategy development
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize and think strategically
The ability to work extended hours upwards of 14 hours and lift 30-50 lbs
Enthusiastic team player with strong leadership skills
Must be a self-starter with a desire to work hard and have a positive “can‐do” attitude

Vacation days are awarded at the discretion of the General Manager with no maximum number of days allowed per calendar year. All vacation requests are to be received at least two weeks prior to needed time off. Vacation time is discouraged from April 1- September 1 due to in-season responsibilities. In the case of illness please provide notice to the General Manager as early as able.
