We offer flexible work scheduling and a full benefits package including medical insurance, vacation, paid holidays, and membership in the North Carolina retirement system.Examples Of DutiesProvides leadership, management, planning, and direction for the Health Department in compliance with federal, state, and local laws.Leads program development, implementation, and evaluation.Establishes internal standards.Monitors service quality.Responds to audits, inspections, and monitoring findingsDirects corrective actions.Develops and manages the department budgetMaximizes revenues, and monitors expenditures.Hires, supervises, evaluates, and disciplines or terminates staff.Promoting effective personnel practices.Conducts safety investigations, inspections, and hazard mitigation.Ensures OSHA compliance and promotes a safety-first culture.Reports safety, administrative, and personnel concerns to the Consolidated Director.Recommends policies, procedures, strategies, and program initiatives to the Consolidated Director.Builds partnerships with government agencies, providers, boards, and community groups.Leads strategic communication with citizens, elected officials, and staff.Enforces communicable disease control laws, including quarantine and isolation.Ensures preparedness for public health emergencies, including pandemics, bioterrorism, and natural disasters.Responds to public health emergencies.Coordinates with state and regional partners.Performs other duties as assigned.Typical QualificationsMaster's Degree in Public Health Administration and at least one (1) year of experience in health services; OR Master's Degree in another public health discipline and at least three (3) years of experience in health services; OR Master's Degree in Public Administration and at least two (2) years of experience in health services; OR Bachelor's Degree in Public Health or Public Administration and at least three (3) years of experience in health services; OR an equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by GS 130A-40 and GS 130A-45.5.Supplemental InformationCriminal records check, drug screen, and references will be required for the successful candidate.All applications will be considered but not necessarily interviewed.Resume in lieu of a completed application will not be accepted.Diplomas and degrees must be received from accredited institutions.We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and E-Verify Participant
