Principal Wireless Network Architect (CLT or WSNC)

Optomi, in partnership with an industry leading healthcare organization are seeking a seasoned Wireless Network Architect with deep expertise in healthcare environments to lead the design, deployment, and optimization of secure wireless infrastructure across our clinical and administrative facilities. This role is pivotal in enabling seamless connectivity for critical medical devices, electronic health records (EHR), telemedicine platforms, and mobile care teams.Key ResponsibilitiesHealthcare-Centric ArchitectureDesign and maintain wireless networks tailored for hospitals, clinics, and remote care settings, ensuring high availability and low latency for mission-critical applications.Clinical IntegrationCollaborate with biomedical engineering and clinical informatics teams to support wireless integration of medical devices, nurse call systems, and real-time location services (RTLS).Security & ComplianceImplement robust wireless security protocols aligned with HIPAA, PCI and other healthcare regulations. Ensure secure segmentation of patient data and IoT traffic.Performance OptimizationConduct RF site surveys in complex healthcare environments, accounting for interference from medical equipment and building materials.Mobility EnablementSupport mobile workflows for physicians, nurses, and administrative staff, including BYOD policies and secure guest access.Disaster Recovery & RedundancyArchitect resilient wireless networks with failover capabilities to support emergency operations and continuity of care.Vendor & Technology EvaluationAssess and recommend wireless solutions with a focus on healthcare-grade reliability.Required Qualifications7+ years of experience in network engineering, with 5+ years in wireless architectureStrong knowledge of Wi-Fi 7, 6/6E, 802.11 standards, and healthcare-specific wireless technologies (RTLS, telemetry)Experience with tools like Ekahau and HaminaExperience with network access control systems and methodologyPreferred SkillsCertifications such as CWNA, CWDP, CCNP Wireless, or equivalentBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master's preferred)Experience with Extreme Networks productsExperience in hospital or multi-site healthcare network deploymentsFamiliarity with EHR systems (Epic, Cerner) and their wireless dependenciesKnowledge of IoT and mobile device management (MDM) in clinical settingsExcellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration with clinical and IT teamsJ-18808-Ljbffr
