Production and Inventory Control Supervisor (2nd Shift)

Our products consist of New England Coffee, French Market Coffee, Luzianne Iced Tea, Blue Plate Mayonnaise, Swans Down Cake Flour, Tiger Sauce, and Carroll Shelby Chili (to name a few) and can be found in foodservice and retail locations around the country.Job Summary: The Night Shift Production & Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for leading the night shift production team to meet customer needs and achieve standards related to safety, quality, cost, line efficiencies, waste, productivity, inventory accuracy, and material control. This highly collaborative, hands-on leader facilitates a culture of continuous improvement throughout production and warehouse operations while ensuring operational discipline and inventory integrity during off-shift hours.This role serves as the primary operational leader for the facility during night shift operations and is accountable for production execution, employee leadership, inventory accuracy, ERP transaction compliance, warehouse coordination, and shift-to-shift communication. The Night Shift Production & Inventory Control Supervisor must align teams to achieve production performance standards while maintaining strict control of materials, traceability, and inventory processes.Manages the night shift production team and budgeted staffing levelsLeads employee development by creating and implementing standardized work processes and structured training plansDrives accountability for safety, quality, productivity, inventory accuracy, and operational performanceLeads cross-functional improvement initiatives to improve quality, streamline efficiencies, and reduce operating expensesManages employee performance by providing coaching as well as timely, direct, complete, and actionable positive and corrective feedbackParticipates in the development and execution of operational strategyOperates at or below budgeted production costs utilizing lean manufacturing principlesDrives team production goals and efficiency to ensure all production requirements are metTracks productivity for measured shift efficiency and continuous improvementServes as the primary night shift owner for inventory accuracy and material controlOversees adherence to inventory control procedures to ensure inventory accuracy goals are consistently achievedEnsures all production-related inventory transactions are completed accurately and timely within ERP/WMS systemsOversees material staging, lot tracking, FIFO compliance, barcode scanning, and material consumption accuracyLeads nightly inventory reconciliation activities and investigates inventory discrepancies, material variances, and transactional errorsCoordinates closely with Planning, Warehouse, Inventory Control, Maintenance, and Quality teams to ensure operational alignmentSupports cycle counts, inventory investigations, and corrective action activities related to inventory variancesEnsures accurate completion of production, inventory, labor, and payroll-related documentation and paperworkFosters a continuous improvement mindset, elevating new ideas and executing plans to positively impact plant operations and goalsTroubleshoots processing and packaging equipment making minor and major adjustments as neededFollows all safety procedures and participates in safety training.
