Job SummaryAdvises, analyzes, supervises, and performs professional duties in Personal Trust/Estate Administration.
Level II DifferentiationWorks with complex trust arrangements such as charitable unitrust and lead trusts; complex personal trusts such as QTIP, Unitrust, Family Succession Planning and other arrangements dealing with tax, estate planning and charitable planning.
Completion of National Trust School program or other industry recognized program such as Cannon Financial Institute.
Attainment of certain industry recognized certifications such as JD degree, CTFA, CISP, CFIRS, or CWS.
Education/Experience RequiredMust have one of the following:
* Bachelor's degree and four years of experience in Personal Trust Administration
* Associate's degree and six years of experience in Personal Trust Administration
Qualifications/Skills Required* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Proven strength in problem solving, negotiation, business development, organization, time management, interpersonal skills, and customer service
* Strong computer skills to include Word, Excel, and Trust accounting systems
* Sales and business development oriented
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities1. Supervisory duties to include interviewing and selection, training and development, delegating responsibilities, monitoring work flow, ensuring quality control, monitoring and tracking employee performance, completing performance appraisals, coaching and counseling, administering progressive discipline, and ensuring compliance to bank policies and procedures.
2. Develops new trust business and integrates book of business throughout the banking network.
3. Meets with clients to discuss investments and investment philosophy, develop strategies, and provide related professional guidance.
4. Maintains daily oversight of overdrafts/cash balances for all assigned accounts.
5. Meets departmental compliance and regulatory standards.
6. Prepares proposals for Personal Trust accounts, and makes presentations to prospective customers and civic groups.
7. Contributes to streamlining departmental paper flow for daily work and improving the quality of reports generated for customers.
8. Works with other areas of Trust Group and bank to integrate ideas and services and to improve the generation of new business and services.
9. Represents the Bank on various civic boards and in community activities.
10. Serves on Trust Administrative and Investment Committees.
11. Knowledge of complex trust and personal tax strategies as well as estate exemption guidelines.
12. Responsible for retention of assigned book of business to include trust accounts, investment agency accounts and IRA's.
13. Review all assigned accounts for compliance with Bank policies and fiduciary regulations.
14. Performs other duties as assigned
