Job Title: Equity Research Associate, Emerging OncologyReports to: Sr. Equity Research AnalystDepartment: Equity ResearchLocation: BostonSalary Range: $110,000-$170,000This individual will work closely with senior equity research professionals to assist in preparing and executing analyses of therapeutic areas, novel biopharmaceutical products, individual companies, and their securities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong sense of intellectual curiosity, passion for the stock market as well as the ability to be a strong team player in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:Collect and analyze data related to therapeutics and various diseases, including scientific papers, clinical data, and prescription trendsDraft market research surveys and analyze resultsInterview company executives or medical/industry consultants to develop and maintain sources of information in preparation of analysesBuild, update and maintain financial modelsFormulate investment recommendations based on fundamental analysis, valuation and risk assessment of individual companiesWrite research reports and notes on companies for distribution to the Leerink sales force and institutional clientsKeep current of market newsAnswer inquiries from firm personnel and external clientsSupport senior equity research professionals by attending events of special interestExperience and Qualifications Required:Excellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to search, understand and interpret scientific and medical publicationsStrong quantitative, financial modeling, forecasting and Excel skillsPrior business education a plus: MBA or CFA, or other formal business trainingPrior science/medical education a plus: PhD, MD, or other formal science/medical trainingFamiliarity and knowledge of the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries including clinical development, regulatory affairs, business development and commercializationAbout Leerink Partners, LLCLeerink Partners is a leading investment bank providing a complete suite of financial solutions comprising M&A advisory, equity, debt, and derivative capital markets, equity research, and sales and trading capabilities.
