Job SummaryThe Division of Workforce Partnerships works in close collaboration with industry and business leaders to ensure the college's offerings are meeting both current and future workforce needs.The Electrical Instructor will create a safe academic environment that encourages student engagement, while effectively delivering the program curriculum. As such, the instructor is expected to plan, organize, and teach in a manner that produces student competency in the discipline area.Duties & ResponsibilitiesTrack, document, and ensure students have the 144 required hours at the completion of the program yearEnsure that state and national apprenticeship standards are being metAlong with Lead Instructor sign off on student attendance and hours at the end of each school weekAdhere to CCRI policies and legal regulationsCommunicate expectations, assignments and responsibilities clearly and professionally to studentsDevelop a syllabus that clearly outlines the course requirements, goals, and objectives of the course.Prepares class sessions and assignments to help students grasp course content and how it integrates with overall student learning outcomes for the courseTeaches course according to the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) standards and in accordance with defined course standards and outcomesCreates a learning environment that encourages student involvement and participation Documents students' attendance, participation, and academic progressSubmits course grades by assigned dateMinimum RequirementsMaster Electrician with 5 years in-trade experienceMust be able to use technology in classroom instructionApplicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of any employment visa including student visas.Since opening its doors for the first time on September 24, 1964, the Community College of Rhode Island has created a strong foundation as the state’s only associate degree-granting institution serving all Rhode Islanders with an affordable, high-quality education.CCRI participates in E-Verify.
