Salary: $48,000.00 per year If you think you are the right match for the following opportunity, apply after reading the complete description.Job DescriptionJob Title:Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)Reports To:Director of Student ServicesSalary:Starting at $48,000 (commensurate with experience and education)Position OverviewThe Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) supports the delivery of high-quality speech and language services under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). This role is ideal for a candidate who is passionate about helping students develop essential communication skills that support academic success and social-emotional growth.The SLPA works directly with students to implement individualized therapy plans, provide targeted interventions, and assist in progress monitoring. This position plays a key role in supporting students with a variety of communication needs, including language development, articulation, and social communication.Key ResponsibilitiesImplement speech and language therapy plans developed by the supervising SLPProvide direct services to students individually and in small groupsAssist with speech and language screenings, assessments, and data collectionMaintain accurate and timely documentation, including session notes, attendance, and progress monitoring dataCollaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to support student progress and carryover of skillsSupport students with expressive/receptive language needs, pragmatic language development, articulation, and phonemic awarenessAssist in identifying students who may benefit from speech and language interventionsParticipate in meetings as appropriate, including IEP, MTSS, and intervention planning meetingsAdhere to all professional, ethical, and confidentiality standardsQualificationsCompletion of an accredited Speech-Language Pathology Assistant programCurrent SLPA licensure or certification (in accordance with state requirements)Experience working with children or students in an educational or clinical setting preferredStrong communication, organization, and interpersonal skillsAbility to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary teamPreferred Skills & AttributesFamiliarity with literacy interventions and phonemic awareness strategiesExperience with progress monitoring tools and data collection systemsKnowledge of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and MTSS frameworksAbility to build strong, positive relationships with students and staffFlexible, proactive, and student-centered approachWhy Join UsAt The Vanguard School, we are committed to supporting the whole child through academically rigorous and content-rich programming.
