Assistant Controller

Assistant ControllerLocation: On-site, Berks County, PASchedule: In-office, 5 days per weekAbout the Opportunity:A privately held, growing manufacturing company backed by a global parent organization is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join its finance leadership team. This role will be highly visible and hands-on, supporting day-to-day financial operations while helping modernize processes and systems as the business continues to grow.This is an excellent opportunity for a strong accounting leader who enjoys partnering with operations, managing people, and improving financial processes in a stable yet evolving environment.Key Responsibilities:Support the Controller in overseeing all accounting and financial operations, including month-end and year-end close, AR/AP, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting to a foreign parent companyManage the monthly close process and ensure timely, accurate financial statementsPrepare financial reports, cash flow forecasts, projections, and ad hoc analyses for senior leadershipLead financial planning, budgeting, and long-term strategic planning activitiesSupervise and develop an accounting team of three reportsMaintain oversight of payroll-related functions, including benefits, 401(k), and insurance coordinationPartner with department leaders to support sound financial decision-making and resource allocationIdentify and implement process improvements and financial best practicesPlay a key role in ERP modernization and automation initiativesWhat We’re Looking For:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related fieldCPA, CMA, or MBA preferredProven people leadership and team development experienceStrong communication skills, including the ability to work effectively across time zonesComfort working in a more manual accounting environment while helping drive future automationManufacturing or similar industry experience is a plus (cost accounting not required)ERP experience preferred (legacy systems, NetSuite, or similar); experience with system implementations is a plus
