For more information, visit www.hmhco.comFirst Shift, On-site position-Troy, MOMaintenance Technician IVResponsible for accurately performing maintenance activities for all company assets and equipment related to the safe and efficient operation of the facility, while maintaining company standards in safety, security, quality, and productivity. Responsible for working independently from both written and verbal instructions. Serves as a contact within the department for both internal and external customers. Will be required to be on-call/flexible as related to their work schedule to accommodate special projects, emergencies, and work shifts.Primary ResponsibilitiesPreventive Maintenance: Perform preventive maintenance and inspections of all company assets to assure they are working safely and efficiently.Material Handling Equipment: Inspect, maintain, and repair forklifts and other material handling equipment as required. Perform/document scheduled preventive maintenance on all material handling equipment.Conveyor Systems: Inspect, maintain, and repair conveyor systems as required to ensure that they operate safely and efficiently causing little or no down time to the operation. Perform/document scheduled preventive maintenance on all conveyor equipment.Storage Systems: Erect, replace, and maintain all storage systems such as racks and shelving as required.Fire Protection Systems: Perform scheduled inspections on fire protection systems which includes, testing fire pumps, flushing sprinkler system, inspecting fire extinguishers, opening/closing PIV valves, and ensuring that the fire alarms are functional per insurance regulations.Heating/Air Conditioning: Inspect, maintain, and repair heating and air conditioning systems as required.Electrical: Perform electrical repairs and installations such as lighting fixtures, outlets, transformers, breaker panels, conduit installation, wiring, and electrical repairs to the conveyor systems.Plumbing: Perform basic plumbing repairs as required.Welding: Perform basic construction repairs as required.Carpentry: Perform basic carpentry and painting as required.Network Cabling: Basic knowledge of installing/certification or network cabling is preferred.Purchasing/Parts Inventory: Make necessary purchases of parts for repairs, and track/document the parts inventory to reduce or limit any down time in the facilities operation.Facility Grounds: Maintain the outside appearance of the facility and the surrounding groundsIndustrial Battery Maintenance: Complete battery maintenance and testing.Miscellaneous: Maintains any and all related equipment as required to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the distribution facility.What You'll NeedHigh School/GED graduateMinimum of one to two years of trade school or directly applicable training.5-7 years of experience in related area of responsibilityWorking knowledge in one or more of the following areas: carpentry, plumbing, electricity, fire protection systems, conveyor systems, forklift mechanics, HVAC, and the ability to read/understand electrical schematics and blueprints.480V and 3 phase experienceMust be able to work overtime when business needs require.Will be required to be on-call/flexible as related to their work schedule to accommodate special projects, emergencies, and work shifts.Nice To HaveTechnical certification or associate’s degree preferred10+ years of experience in industrial maintenance preferredPrevious experience in electrical componentry and three phase wiring preferredFamiliar with material handling equipment is preferredPLC programing experience is beneficialPhysical RequirementsMust be capable of sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time.Must be able to lift/push/carry up to 50 lbs. frequently.Must be able to work in extreme temperatures (hot and cold).Must be able to work from variable heights while wearing a safety harness.Salary: $55,970 (paid hourly)BenefitsComprehensive Health Plan Options13 Annual HolidaysParental Leave and Adoption Assistance401(k) Retirement Savings PlanFinancial Wellness ProgramDisability InsuranceLife InsuranceEmployee Assistance ProgramFree Mental Health TrainingTalent Referral ProgramApplication DeadlineThe application window for this position is anticipated to close on 4/10/2026.
