Job DescriptionDelivery and pick-up of roll-off containers in and around the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro and surrounding area.A Day in the LifeDeliver and pick up roll-off containersKeeps informed of local area road conditions, traffic, and detoursComplete work orders on Android tablet for proper customer billingUnderstands and abides by the DOT hours-of-service regulations and communicates with Dispatch to ensure compliancePositively represent Veit on site and on road with customer service skills and courteous drivingCommunicate pickup or delivery changes or concerns on jobsite to DispatchCommunicate future jobsite leads to dispatcher or sales teamTakes pride in the appearance of assigned equipment by maintaining a clean interior and exteriorPerforms thorough pre and post-trip inspections and communicates with mechanics to identify problems and schedule repairsOther projects or duties as assigned by managementWhat You'll NeedHigh school diploma or GED required along with six months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceClass A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) LicenseMedical card for operating a DOT vehicleExperience using email and electronic tracking or ability to learn new computer hardware and softwareAbility to read maps, follow directions, and navigate with GPSAbility to comply with all applicable safety precautionsAbility to follow all policies and procedures outlined in Veit’s safety training video and written manualsAbility to follow specific directions for vendor pickup and deliveriesAbility to satisfactorily perform each essential duty and responsibilityWorking knowledge of hazards and safety precautions common to driving truck and entering onto jobsites and personal propertyAbility to work with mathematical concepts when neededAbility to effectively communicate with coworkers, management of all levels and most importantly, customer and clientsAbility to learn mechanics of truck for automated tarping and proper procedure for manual tarping if neededAbility to meet attendance schedule with on-time dependability and consistency as required by management and/or project requirementsOtherMust be able to pass a pre-employment drug testRequires 8-12-hour days Monday - Friday with possible weekendsMust maintain satisfactory Motor Vehicle RecordPhysical Demands The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by any employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
