Job Description Description:Non-Exempt / HourlySchedule: 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday - FridayJob SummaryThe Assembler is responsible for assembling and building electronic and mechanical components using hand tools, fixtures, machines, and standard work instructions. This role requires strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and accuracy in following assembly procedures to meet customer and company quality standards.Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)Note: Nothing in this job description restricts management&#39;s right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time. This job description does not constitute a written or implied contract of employment.Assemble mechanical and electronic components using hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, cutters, torque tools, and machines when applicable.Follow detailed work instructions, assembly drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs).Prepare and inspect components before assembly to ensure accuracy and compliance with specifications.Perform basic wiring, crimping, labeling, and routing as required.Use small tools, magnification equipment, and measuring devices to complete precision assembly tasks.Record completed work and maintain accurate production documentation.Identify and report defective parts, material shortages, or documentation discrepancies.Maintain a clean, organized workstation following 5S and safety guidelines.Assist in packaging, labeling, and preparing finished units for shipment when needed.Support continuous improvement efforts and process updates.Follow all company safety procedures and wear PPE where required.Requirements:Qualification RequirementsEducation & QualificationHigh School diploma or General Education degree (GED) preferredWork Experience – Technical knowledgePrior experience in assembly or manufacturing setting preferred.Professional SkillsAbility to read and interpret work instructions, assembly drawings, and schematics.Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.Behavioral / Soft SkillsBasic understanding of mechanical assembly practices and small components.Comfortable using hand tools, small power tools, measurement instruments and machines when applicable.Physical DemandAbility to sit or stand for long periods.Frequent use of hands and fingers for fine assembly tasks.Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally.Visual acuity needed for close-up and detailed work.Work EnvironmentManufacturing environment with exposure to small parts, tools, and equipment.Safety RequirementUnderstand and follow safety procedures within the organizationVIRTEX is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
