Company OverviewCompanion Pet Partners is a network of best-in-class veterinary practices with talented and compassionate team members collaborating to deliver exceptional care & service.About This RoleWe are seeking a Director of Clinical Services to serve as the strategic and clinical leader for the company, ensuring that our teams are supported, engaged, and accountable for delivering exceptional medical care.Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, you will lead clinical strategy, lead the Medical Advisory Board (MAB), oversee clinical training & education to facilitate team development and enable advanced medical quality, and oversee the development and deployment of medical programs that support our doctors and medical directors.What Success Looks LikeClinical Excellence: You'll establish and maintain the highest standards of veterinary care by implementing best practices, policies and procedures to enhance clinical operations, efficiency and guiding medical protocols, and ensuring every patient receives exceptional treatment. You'll monitor clinical outcomes, provide constructive feedback, and implement improvements to continuously elevate the level of medicine practiced at our hospital.Team Leadership: You'll inspire and develop our veterinary team through mentorship, training, and fostering a positive hospital culture where professionals feel valued, supported, and motivated to excel. Conduct regular shadowing and in-clinic coaching to strengthen clinical standards, case management, and communication skills. Provide guidance on complex cases and promote evidence-based medicine across all clinics. Partner with regional operations leaders to ensure alignment between medical and operational excellence.Recruiting & Professional Development: You’ll collaborate with Talent Acquisition, HR and Operations to recruit, interview, and onboard top veterinary talent. Lead mentoring and training initiatives, including continuing education programs. Represent Companion at veterinary schools, conferences, and industry events to attract and inspire future talent.Team Engagement & Culture: You’ll foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and medical integrity across the company. Partner with clinic leadership to strengthen engagement, retention, and employee satisfaction. Recognize and celebrate clinical achievements while reinforcing Companion’s values and mission.What Makes You a Great FitClinical Practice: You’ll maintain a limited clinical schedule to remain grounded in patient care and lead by example in delivering high-quality medicine. Serve as a company-wide resource for clinical case consultation and client communication support. Collaborate with support teams to drive consistency across hospitals.Strategic Partnership: You'll collaborate with operations leadership to identify growth opportunities, address challenges, and make strategic decisions that enhance both patient care and hospital performance, including initiatives to optimize clinical caseload, financial sustainability and operational effectiveness.Client Advocacy: You'll ensure exceptional client experiences by guiding communication standards, addressing complex cases or concerns, and fostering trust between our practice and the community we serve.Community Partnership: You’ll represent the company in professional organizations, schools, conferences and with regulatory agencies.Education & ExperienceEducation & ExperienceDoctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree requiredCurrent state veterinary license in good standingCurrent DEA license required8+ years of clinical experience with increasing responsibility and oversight of clinical servicesExceptional clinical skills with comprehensive knowledge of veterinary medicineStrong leadership abilities with experience mentoring and developing veterinary professionalsSound business acumen with understanding of veterinary practice operationsAdaptability and composure when managing complex situations or competing prioritiesCollaborative approach to working with hospital leadership Genuine compassion for animals and commitment to the highest standards of careAbility to translate strategic goals into clear, motivating direction for teams; inspires commitment to Companion’s mission and values.
