We’re on a mission to make communities safer and response smarter through cutting-edge predictive technology.Role OverviewWe’re seeking a Data Analyst Intern to support wildfire modeling, geospatial analysis, and operational reporting. You’ll work closely with our technical and operations teams to extract insights from complex datasets, refine fire risk models, and help make our analytical output actionable for real-world decision-making.ResponsibilitiesClean and manipulate structured and unstructured environmental datasetsAssist in building and refining geospatial risk models using Python or RAnalyze time-series sensor, satellite, and weather data to uncover trendsCreate visualizations and dashboards for agency and partner reportsCollaborate with engineers to validate and improve data pipelinesContribute to data-driven storytelling for grants, pilots, and stakeholder reportsQualificationsCurrently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Environmental Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related fieldProficiency in Python (pandas, matplotlib, geopandas) or RExperience with Excel and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.)Familiarity with GIS concepts or shapefile workflows (a plus)Strong analytical skills and attention to detailPassion for climate tech, public safety, or applied AIPreferred ExperienceHandling satellite, wildfire, or climate-related datasetsUnderstanding machine learning or statistical modeling basicsExperience using APIs (NOAA, USGS, Cal Fire, etc.) for data retrievalThis is a voluntary, unpaid internship with flexible hours and potential for growth within the company.
