Senior Unified Communications Engineer

Blue Tech Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Unified Communications Engineer to support a large-scale Department of Defense unified communications and video collaboration environment. This individual will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for the operational support, sustainment, troubleshooting, optimization, and stakeholder coordination of a secure enterprise collaboration platform.This is a hands-on engineering role focused on Day-2 operations and platform sustainment within a mission-critical environment supporting Federal and DoD customers. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in enterprise collaboration technologies, secure communications infrastructure, and operational support within classified or highly regulated environments.Key ResponsibilitiesOperations & SustainmentProvide daily operational support for enterprise unified communications infrastructureMonitor system performance, platform availability, and overall operational healthPerform incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysisCoordinate escalations with internal engineering teams and vendor support organizationsSupport backup validation, resiliency testing, and continuity operationsPlatform Administration & Technical SupportSupport and maintain:SIP/H.323 communications servicesWebRTC collaboration servicesVideo Teleconferencing (VTC) integrationsSupport Microsoft Teams interoperability operationsPerform configuration changes, call routing updates, and policy administrationParticipate in change management activities and production deploymentsUser Experience & Collaboration SupportMaintain and improve:Scheduling workflowsMeeting join instructionsConference policies and collaboration standardsSupport endpoint integrations and usability enhancementsProvide white-glove support for executive and high-visibility meetingsDocumentation & Knowledge ManagementDevelop and maintain:Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)RunbooksOperational documentationKnowledge base articlesEnsure all documentation accurately reflects the current operational environmentSecurity & ComplianceSupport RMF/ATO-related operational activitiesAssist with:ACAS scan review and remediation supportPOA&M trackingSIEM logging validationEnsure compliance with IL6 and DoD cybersecurity requirementsReporting & Stakeholder EngagementProvide recurring operational and performance reportingParticipate in technical and program-level meetingsServe as a liaison between customer stakeholders, operational teams, and engineering organizationsRequired QualificationsExperience supporting Unified Communications and Video Conferencing platformsStrong understanding of:SIPH.323WebRTCExperience supporting Microsoft Teams interoperability environmentsExperience working within Federal or DoD environmentsActive security clearance appropriate for IL6 accessStrong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skillsAbility to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced operational environmentPreferred QualificationsExperience supporting secure enterprise collaboration and Unified Communications environments within DISA or other DoD organizationsHands-on experience with enterprise video collaboration platforms, interoperability services, and secure conferencing technologiesStrong background supporting SIP, H.323, and WebRTC signaling, media troubleshooting, and call routing within classified or mission-critical environmentsExperience supporting Microsoft Teams interoperability and Cloud Video Interoperability (CVI) solutions within secure Federal infrastructuresExperience operating within STIG-enforced, RMF-compliant, and IL5/IL6 environmentsFamiliarity with PKI certificate lifecycle management, DoD CAC workflows, and secure certificate provisioning processesExperience supporting VMware vCenter and ESXi virtualization infrastructures across Development, Engineering, and Production environmentsAbility to perform Tier III engineering support and root cause analysis across networking, DNS, routing, and collaboration dependenciesExperience developing implementation plans, test plans, rollback procedures, operational documentation, and cybersecurity artifacts for production approvalsFamiliarity with DISN networking, Cisco/Juniper infrastructure, and enterprise networking operations within DoD environmentsCurrent CompTIA Security+ CE certification or equivalent DoD 8140/8570-compliant certification preferredActive Top Secret clearance strongly preferredWork Location & ScheduleHybrid work scheduleMinimum of three (3) onsite days per week at Fort Meade, MDOccasional support at Herndon, VA, as required
