If you're interested in joining a dynamic work environment that offers opportunities to reach your full potential, we want to hear from you.Position Overview:The Maintenance Technician is responsible for safely maintaining, repairing and installing manufacturing equipment to ensure maximum productivity of the operation.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Ensure that safety policies, housekeeping rules and guidelines, quality standards, and standard operating procedures are followed.Maintain, install and repair industrial parts and equipment within the plant to ensure a safe and reliable day to day operation of the plant equipment.Collaborate with Maintenance and Management to troubleshoot repairs and manage regular maintenance and compliance programs.Perform routine equipment preventative maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubrication and inspection.Interpret blueprints and schematics to determine work procedures.Record and maintain documentation relating to maintenance activities and calibrations.Complete daily site inspections and required reporting.Understand all areas within the facility to include safe lock out procedures and equipment guarding.Identify issues and unsafe work conditions and implement the required corrective actions.Set-up, maintain and operate shop tools and equipment.Manage spare part, supply and equipment inventories.Other duties as assigned.Position Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent.Mechanical Engineering Technician/Technologist Diploma or equivalent OR previous advanced training and experience in maintenance within a manufacturing environment is required.Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge and experience with machinery components, pumps, motors and controls.Experience troubleshooting and documenting equipment breakdowns, resolving issues and handling repairs.Flexibility concerning work activities and requirements.Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation.Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) experience - an asset.Competencies:ProactiveSelf motivatedTime managementPlanning and organizingProblem solvingCreative and innovative thinkingStrong commitment to Team environmentPhysical Requirements/Working ConditionsAbility to lift 20-50 lbs frequentlyAbility to lift up to 70 lbs occasionallyContinuous standingUse of hands and feet to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, controls, press buttons, levers and pedalsBending, twisting and reachingRepetitive movementFrequent walkingWear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, ear protection, safety shoes, gloves and any other protective equipment deemed necessary.Work indoors in non-controlled environmental conditionsWork in hot conditions or cold temperaturesExposure to sounds and noise levels that can be distracting or uncomfortableExposure to minor cuts or burnsExposure to contaminantsExposure to hazardous equipmentWork with others in a group or teamCall-ins will be required.Overtime will be required.Travel may be required.Benefits:Health insuranceDental insuranceVision InsuranceLife insurance401(k)401(k) matchingPaid time offEmployee assistance programReferral programTuition reimbursementShift: 8-hour shiftWork Location: In person, Company does not provide relocation assistance.Central Wire Group of Companies is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
