Senior Software Engineer – Cloud Platform (Node.js / AWS Serverless)

Location: Remote. Candidates must live within commuting distance of one of the client’s 5 designated hubs for periodic on-site presence (Dallas, Miramar, Minneapolis, Atlanta, Seattle)

Required Qualifications: 10+ years of software development, with strong depth in backend systems, cloud infrastructure, and platform engineering. Strong expertise in Node.js development within AWS cloud environments. Extensive hands-on experience building, deploying, and supporting serverless applications on AWS.Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and event-driven patterns. Experience integrating with cloud-native messaging and event services, such as Kafka. Solid database experience, including data modeling, query optimization, and performance tuning, with PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB, and/or MongoDB.Proven AWS experience across EC2, ECS, Lambda, S3, Cognito, and CloudWatch. Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration in cloud environments. Knowledge of Micro Frontend architectures and module federation. Experience securing distributed platforms with CIAM, authentication and authorization, and data protection. Strong grasp of engineering best practices: CI/CD (Jenkins, GitHub Actions), automated testing, code reviews, and observability. Comfortable and productive with agentic/AI developer tools. The team expects engineers to embrace generated code, not oppose it. Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and business teams.

Preferred Qualifications: Deep experience with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, EventBridge, SQS, SNS, CloudWatch, and IAM.Java/Spring Boot backend experience, including concurrency and performance optimization. Experience designing scalable, highly available, secure cloud-native solutions. Terraform or similar IaC tooling. Performance monitoring with Prometheus and Grafana. Experience building self-healing systems and automated incident detection and response. Familiarity with frontend technologies used for internal administration tools. Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical discussions.
