This full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) role supports physicians and mid-level providers by delivering assessments, treatments, testing, and patient education within a pediatric clinic setting.General SummaryThe Office LPN plays a vital role in patient care by maintaining organization, professionalism, and excellent customer service. This position requires multitasking in a fast-paced environment, critical thinking, and adherence to safety protocols.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesFollow clinic policies to ensure patient safety, including infection prevention and safe patient handling.Administer medications as ordered (oral, IM, SC).Assist providers with procedures, maintaining sterile fields and managing instruments.Support examinations within the scope of licensure.Perform phone triage and act as a liaison between providers and patients.Communicate test results and assist with patient follow-up calls.Document patient complaints and visit details accurately.Escort patients to exam rooms and obtain vital signs and measurements.Update medication and patient summary lists as directed.Conduct point-of-care lab testing and collect specimens.Educate patients and guardians about electronic health record tools.Provide patient teaching and supportive services.Schedule diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including precertifications.Train LPNs and Medical Assistants in clinic roles.Demonstrate accountability, teamwork, and reliability.EducationGraduate of an accredited LPN program and completion of an approved IV therapy course.ExperiencePrevious nursing or healthcare experience is preferred but not required.Certification/LicenseCurrent LPN license valid in the state of practice and American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification required.Mental/Physical RequirementsRequires considerable mental focus, ability to lift up to 35 lbs., and perform activities such as standing, walking, turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching.Working ConditionsFrequent exposure to infectious diseases and occasional encounters with hostile individuals. Exposure to communicable diseases through blood and body fluids is common. Minimal physical discomfort expected.
