Cashier PT mid-shift / evenings / weekends

The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while accurately processing transactions. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to handle cash and operate a Point of Sale (POS) system effectively. The Cashier will also assist with merchandising, stocking, and upselling products to enhance the customer experience. Responsibilities Ability to lift at least 50 pounds Reliable transportation to and from work Operate the POS system to process customer transactions efficiently and accurately. Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering inquiries, and addressing any concerns. Handle cash and credit transactions with precision, ensuring accurate cash handling practices. Assist in merchandising efforts by organizing product displays and maintaining an appealing store layout. Perform stocking duties to replenish merchandise on shelves and ensure product availability. Engage in upselling techniques to promote additional products to customers during checkout. Conduct product demonstrations as needed to enhance customer understanding of items for sale. Maintain a clean and organized checkout area while adhering to grocery store policies and procedures. Demonstrate effective phone etiquette when handling customer calls or inquiries. Experience Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred but not required. Familiarity with basic math skills for accurate cash handling and retail math calculations. Strong communication skills are essential for providing excellent customer service and fostering a positive shopping experience.
