Reports to: Director of Design/Build (Hayley Kayser)
Works Closely With: Principal, Operations Team, Design/Decoration Team, Trades, & Vendors Role Type: Full-Time | Hourly for first 60 days, salaried if a good fit
Compensation: $55,000-$65,000 annually

Role Purpose
The Coordinator of Design/Build plays a critical support role within The Design Coach’s Design/Build practice, serving as the organizational, technical, and administrative backbone to the Director of Design/Build. This position exists to extend the Director’s capacity, protect strategic design bandwidth, and ensure projects move forward with clarity, preparedness, and professionalism.
This role is ideal for a design professional with strong 3D modeling / visualization, growing technical skill, and a desire to mature into higher levels of responsibility within luxury residential design/build environments.
Core Mission
To support the successful execution of Design/Build projects by:
Translating design intent into clear, build-ready documentation
Anticipating needs before they become bottlenecks
Maintaining accuracy, organization, and follow-through across all D/B workflows
Creating confidence for clients, trades, and internal team members through preparedness and professionalism
Key Responsibilities
Project / measure setup & stewardship
Visualization / 3D modeling
Presentation preparation
Vendor outreach / management
Material & product documentation
Create construction document sets
Tracking / fulfillment of product
Design/Build Project Support
Assist the Director of Design/Build in all phases of active projects—from concept through construction and close-out
Prepare and maintain drawings, specifications, selections, and project documentation (Revit, Enscape, schedules, binders, digital files)
Support cabinet layouts, elevations, and detailing under Director guidance
Track revisions, updates, and approvals to ensure version control and clarity
Documentation & Organization
Assemble and maintain Design/Build binders, digital folders, and material trays
Support pricing, allowances, and scope documentation with accuracy and consistency
Assist in preparation of client-facing presentations and review materials
Ensure documentation aligns with TDC standards and is “table-set” before meetings, installs, or site visits
Field & Trade Coordination
Support site visits, measurements, deliveries, and install days as needed
Assist with trade communication by preparing scopes, drawings, and clarification documents
Help document field conditions, changes, and follow-up items
Collaborate closely with the Director of Field Supervision to maintain alignment between design intent and execution
Client & Team Support
Provide responsive, professional support to internal team members and clients as directed
Anticipate questions or needs from the Director of Design/Build and proactively prepare solutions
Serve as a reliable point of follow-through on assigned tasks and open loops
Support a calm, solution-oriented environment during fast-moving or complex project phases

The Coordinator of Design/Build is successful when:

Projects move forward with fewer clarifying questions, fewer last-minute scrambles, and greater confidence
Documentation is accurate, timely, and consistently organized

Qualifications
The ideal candidate should be a vibrant designer with:
4-year bachelor degree in design or related field (accredited university preferred)
3-5 years experience in commercial or residential design
Revit proficiency (1-2 years experience minimum)
Enscape proficiency (1-2 years experience minimum)
Bluebeam experience preferred
Familiarity with project management software (i.e. Google Workspace, Monday.com, etc.) is a plus
Motivated self-starter who is solutions-driven, ready to jump when asked or anticipate needs before they arise
Willing to travel locally & nationally to job sites
Revit assessment / portfolio review
Background check
Valid driver’s license
