Senior Human Resources Generalist
The Senior HR Generalist is responsible for the full employee lifecycle, compliance, compensation administration, benefits management, HRIS management, performance management, payroll, office management and employee engagement initiatives.
This role serves as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and managers while ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and a strong, people-first culture.
This is both a strategic and tactical leadership role requiring strong business acumen, discretion, and execution capability. This position will service 45 employees in Arizona and 8 employees in Nevada. This is a hybrid role in Phoenix, AZ working Mon-Thurs in office and Friday from home.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition and Employee Lifecycle Management
Partner with leadership to assess workforce needs and compensation bands
Oversee full-cycle recruiting and onboarding
Ensure job descriptions align with career pathways and succession planning
Oversee offboarding process
Maintain compliant personnel files (electronic and physical)
HRIS & Payroll Administration
Serve as system owner for UKG HRIS
Bi-monthly payroll processing, reporting and audit accuracy
Ensure E-Verify and I-9 compliance
Manage ACA reporting and annual audits
Manage broker relationship and annual Open Enrollment process
Oversee medical, dental, vision, FSA, HSA, 401(k), and ancillary plans
Audit monthly benefit invoices for accuracy
Compensation & Performance Management
Manage annual salary review process and compensation tracking
Support leadership in performance review cycles (bi-annually)
Align compensation decisions to external benchmarking data
Employee Engagement & Culture
Coordinate and facilitate monthly company meetings
Manage wellness initiatives and employee referral and recognition programs
Oversee annual event calendar
Coordinate volunteer and community engagement initiatives
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure compliance with FLSA, ACA, E-Verify, and federal/state labor laws
Maintain documentation and audit readiness
Monitor regulatory updates and implement process improvements
Conduct annual compliance audits
Office & Operational Oversight
Act as primary contact for onboarding/offboarding and IT asset management
Oversee building access, facilities coordination, and vendor relationships
Manage internal HR communications, policy updates and agency ORG chart
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience
Minimum of 5 years' experience in an HR Generalist role
At least 3 years' experience independently managing HR operations
Strong working knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and compliance requirements
Experience administering HRIS platforms; UKG experience preferred
Experience administering fully insured benefit plans
401k Administration and audit experience
Payroll processing experience
Strong Excel and reporting capabilities
Outstanding organizational and communication skills
High level of discretion and professionalism
Ability to lift 20 pounds
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time at a computer
Preferred
SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR or SPHR certification highly preferred
Experience in marketing communications (advertising, branding, public relations) or other fast paced professional services environment strongly desired
Multi-entity HR support experience a plus
