Collections Manager
Our client is a growing home medical equipment (HME) company seeking an experienced Collections Manager to lead their billing office collections function. This is a key leadership role responsible for clean, compliant billing, efficient A/R follow-up, and cross-functional coordination with sales and service teams.What You'll DoDevelop and implement effective collection strategies to minimize overdue accounts receivableCommunicate directly with payers and patients to resolve billing disputes and negotiate payment termsReview daily claims before electronic submission and work all denials and correspondencePost and reconcile patient/insurance payments to accounts and general ledgerPrepare Monthly Bad Debt Reports and Weekly Sales ReportsMonitor aged receivables and submit/track Prior Authorization requests for assigned payersReview medical policies for assigned payers to ensure billing complianceProcess insurance changes and billing-related service ticketsCoordinate with Sales and Service teams to resolve customer issuesIdentify billing trends and escalate payer changes to management immediatelyHandle inbound billing and collections customer service callsManage and complete daily task list, email, and voicemail queuesWhat You BringHigh school diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor's degree a plusSolid background in medical billing — HME/DME experience strongly preferredPrevious supervisory or management experience requiredStrong knowledge of medical terminology and insurance billing processesProficiency with billing software and data/order entry systemsExcellent communication skills for working with clients, payers, and internal teamsAbility to manage multiple priorities independently with minimal supervisionStrong attention to detail and comfort with numbersWork EnvironmentFull-time, in-office position in a temperature-controlled environmentNon-Exempt (hourly) classificationComputer-based role — extensive use of keyboard, telephone, and billing software
