EthosEnergy is recruiting for an Operations & Maintenance Technician (OMT) at Cherokee County Cogeneration, a 1 x 1 combined cycle facility location in Gaffney, SC. The site consists of (1) GE 6FA.01 Combustion Turbine Generator Set with HRSG, (1) GE Steam Turbine Generator Set, and associated balance of plant equipment. This role will be assigned to a 12hr rotating shift and oversee responsibility for the proper operation and maintenance of the facility. This position works under the direction of the O&M Manager and Lead Operations & Maintenance Technician (LOMT’s). Successful candidates will have 2 - 4 years related experience and/or training with previous power plant experience. Applicants must have the right to work in the United States in order to be considered for this position.
Schedule Note: This critical role will require overtime, and irregular hours as needed to support reliable operation of the facility when needed. From time to time the working hours will be determined on short notice based on plant requirements.
Job Responsibilities
Supports proper operation of the combined cycle generating facility with minimal guidance or assistance
Operates and maintains plant equipment
Communicates plant issues and keeps LOMT informed of operations, unusual conditions, and faulty equipment
Will use Maximo, a CMM to record equipment problems, enter work requests and document maintenance actions
Handle corrective maintenance and preventive maintenance work orders
Read meters, gauges, or automatic devices to record data such as temperature of equipment, vibration of equipment, hours of operation, pressure, and fluid levels to verify operating conditions
Visually inspect and listen to equipment at periodic intervals to detect malfunctions or need for repair, adjustment, or lubrication
Provide detailed status of plant conditions to fellow OMT’s at shift turnover
Perform water chemistry analysis on HRSG, and cooling tower systems
Ensure water chemistry is within proper control ranges
Adjust water chemistry, as needed, by controlling chemical feed and/or blowdown rates
Work with LOMT’s and water treatment vendor to monitor overall chemistry program
Operate demineralized water system in accordance with OEM and plant procedures and monitor demineralized water to ensure quality
Maintain equipment by tightening fittings, replacing valve packing, gaskets, valves, gauges, etc. and cleaning, replacing, oiling, and lubricating other component parts
Diagnoses equipment malfunction or failure of operational equipment. Repair, replace, dismantle, and examine defective parts along with lubricating and cleaning parts
Uses facility operating procedures and equipment technical manuals to operate, maintain and repair facility equipment
Assist in troubleshooting and inspecting programmable logic controllers, plant control systems and distributive control systems including control card replacement and wiring terminations
Demonstrate ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical one-lines, logic drawings, technical manuals, and P&ID's
Perform general housekeeping and continuous improvement of the appearance of the facility including painting projects
Maintains the cleanliness of all areas of the plant and control room.
Read, understand, and comply with all regulatory and facility safety procedures
May be required to operate a forklift and similar heavy equipment
Required Skills / Knowledge
The successful candidate will possess and demonstrate competence in one or more of the following maintenance skills: Instrumentation, Controls, Electrician, Mechanical Maintenance.
Demonstrates the ability to make competent decisions in emergency situations.
Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills.
Experience
High School diploma or equivalent required
Two to four years related experience and/or training; or a combination of experience and/or education preferred
Previous Power plant experience is desired

Physical Requirements
Stand, walk, use hands and fingers dexterously to operate tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and communicate orally.
Vision abilities required.
Sitting for extended periods may be required.
The employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Must be physically capable of ascending and descending structural stairways and portable ladders.
May be required to operate a forklift.
Must be authorized to work in the United States
