About the Role
The Staff Accountant will manage a portfolio of clients and ensure each client’s financial records are accurate, complete, and tax‑ready. This position requires current, hands‑on accounting experience and strong proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online.
Primary Responsibilities
Prepare books and records for tax preparation for small business clients
Review and manage payroll setup, payroll entries, and payroll accuracy
Maintain accurate general ledger activity using QuickBooks Online and checklist-driven processes
Identify discrepancies in client financials and resolve accounting issues
Utilize spreadsheets and AI‑supported tools to streamline workflow
Follow structured processes and checklists to ensure consistency across clients
Time Allocation
70% — Bookkeeping & general ledger work
20% — Payroll review & entries
10% — Client support & checklist-based tasks
Required Qualifications
Current, hands‑on bookkeeping or staff accounting experience
Strong QuickBooks Online proficiency
Solid understanding of debits, credits, and accounting fundamentals
Ability to consistently follow structured processes and checklists
Strong attention to detail, organization, and reliability
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary: $80,000–$100,000 depending on experience
