Job Summary Analytical Technician will provide support to SD Production and R&D team. How You Can Be the Impact Deliver high quality catalyst/material characterization solutions and methods by applying analytical skills, knowledge of heterogenous catalysis, and expertise in surface science. The role will focus on developing methods, executing, and coordinating surface analysis internally across the catalyst development teams and externally with collaborators to provide effective characterization support to SD. The characterization techniques include SEM, TEM, XPS, Chemisorption, TPD, TGA/DSC and many more with some necessary collaborations with universities and other research institutions. Major Activities And Responsibilities Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot analytical equipment’s of ICP, AA, XRF, and Titrators in a fast-paced lab environment. (ICP-OES knowledge a plus). Perform analytical procedures such as ICP, AA, XRF, acid digestion, titration, etc. to support QC/QA analyses in the main lab by following established SOPs. Assist in development and validation of new analytical methods, establish new SOPs based on various instruments, ensure analytical methods are fully tested for ruggedness, with minimal supervision. Assist in reviewing and revising obsolete wet chemistry methods, and to upgrade/develop methods from scratch to equipment scouting and acquisition, until laboratory validation and documentation per ASTM method format. Always maintain an orderly and safe workplace. MUST BE WILLING TO WORK 12 Hour shift, if needed. What Matters to Scientific Design Demonstrate proficiency in analytical chemistry, critical thinking, self-initiative, and team player. College graduate with a degree in Chemistry. Must have successful experiences on issued SOPs and/or analytical methods. Must have good work ethics. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and organizational skills are necessary. Detail oriented – producing consistent and accurate results. Must be able to work independently and with a team. Must be able to multi-task and prioritize work assignments. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. Experiences in a petrochemical lab environment is a plus. Good communication skills (written and oral) – in English.
