Also involves some risk of back injury from moving, lifting or positioning patients, equipment, or materials; risk of injuries from use of equipment on the job; and exposure to blood-borne or airborne pathogens, hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, cuts/punctures, burns, and combative/violent people.Shift - Shift primarily during the hours of 12:30-9pm Monday through Friday. Shift hours may change to provide necessary coverage.Job Summary - This position will support ambulatory clinics in the management of patients requiring Specialty Pharmacy medications. In the absence of the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC), the Director of Operations will assume all responsibilities or will designate an appropriately experienced pharmacist on that team to fulfill interim PIC duties. If the Director of Operations is also absent, a SCSP will determine which pharmacist should assume PIC duties. Strong clinical oversight and patient education is mandatory for high functioning specialty pharmacies. The UK Specialty pharmacy will improve clinic workflow, increase patient satisfaction, and increase the volume of specialty medications dispensed through UK pharmacies. The creation of a UK HealthCare Specialty Pharmacy will allow subspecialty care to be managed entirely within UK HealthCare, avoiding the fractured care that currently exists by relying on external specialty pharmacies and manufacturer hubs. This position will provide a high patient-touch service while obtaining affordable access to these medications, both cornerstones of a high functioning Specialty Pharmacy.
