Position OverviewWe are looking to add a Senior Electrical Engineer to our growing team in our Oak Ridge, TN office. You will perform a variety of electrical engineering design and construction support functions. ResponsibilitiesSurvey/assess existing facility and master planning, scoping and estimating level of engineering effort Field work to assess existing conditions Report writing Conceptual design Design development of drawings, specifications, and calculation analyses Assist with cost estimating and technical review of design packages Direct the activities of junior engineering staff for these tasks Disposition of NCRs Perform assessments on existing design, respond to RFIs, issue Design Change Notices (DCNs) Coordinate with Quality on inspections and support development of scopes of work for electrical subcontracts and services during bidding and construction Answer requests for information, review bids, review shop drawings, conduct site visits during construction, provide commissioning support, host progress meetings, and facilitate project closeout QualificationsBS or MS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET‐certified institution and 8+ years of electrical engineering design experience Construction support experience for Title3 activities Proof of U.S. citizenship required (government customer requirement) Short‐Circuit Analysis experience Extensive knowledge of the NEC Experience leading groups of engineers and designers on major projects Experience leading technical discussions with clients Ability to author proposals and Statements of Work (plus) Preferred QualificationsPE license DOE experience NQA‐1 experience Arc Flash Analysis experience Familiarity with Instrumentation & Controls interface Broad knowledge of electrical systems, including power system design, substation design, fire alarm design, lighting design, load‐flow studies, communications design, grounding design, and equipment selection Independent production of sizing calculations and other analyses/reports Experience providing construction support or services during construction Essential FunctionsIntermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting (max 20lbs); 50ft carry distance; hand manipulation for simple grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation Occasional need to reach above the shoulder or below the shoulder; no foot controls required Alertness to equipment in the field; occasional travel; work near construction site equipment; occasional exposure to dust, gas or fumes, noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights Other Essential FunctionsU.S. citizenship required Valid driver's license required Ability to work in a team atmosphere and display professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation Appropriate grooming and dress; no safety risks or hazards to employee or others Pass pre‐employment drug, background check, and site security badge screening Compensation$175,000 – $190,000. The compensation range or hourly rate listed for this position is provided as a good‐faith estimate of what the company intends to offer for this role at the time this posting was issued. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws.
