Life Enrichment - Activity Assistant - Assisted Living (Summer Only)

The Mary T Family of Companies is seeking a full-time TEMPORARY Life Enrichment Assistant to assist with our life enrichment programming for our 4 assisted living buildings located in Coon Rapids, MN.Our smaller, personalize assisted living facilities are the perfect place to build relationships with residents!The purpose of the Life Enrichment Assistant is to assist with facilitating engaging, fun, and memorable experiences for seniors through programs to meet social, physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, and sensory needs.This is a TEMPORARY full-time position, requiring in-person, on-site work. This temporary position will fill in while a current employee is on a leave of absence. The schedule will be Monday - Friday from 9a-5p, with just 8 hours of weekend (Saturday or Sunday) work required per month. This position is temporary only, with employment starting on June 1st, 2026 and ending in August 2026.This position is a great fit for a student or educator seeking a summer-only position!ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC JOB DUTIESSet up activity location with supplies for structured group activities in a timely mannerFacilitate various activity types on time and in assigned areas.Provide calm or dynamic energy as appropriate for structured group activities as outlined in activity policy and procedure.Ensure resident participation during activity programs by engaging residents in subject matter. Calling on them by name when appropriate or assisting them as needed to do activity.Give each resident on assigned floor the opportunity to attend structured activity, by extending personal invitations to event and arranging transportation to activity location in a timely manner.Ensure residents have a positive experience when serving refreshments by providing the same snack in the various textures that are required. Follow care plan regarding resident's diet or diet restrictions.Document resident's daily routine and leisure, including structured group activity attendance, 1:1 participation, independent leisure, volunteer visits and family visits.Demonstrate a working knowledge of the resident's history, skills, areas of vulnerability, the individual care plan and offer suggestions regarding patient routine and leisure plan.Maintain confidentiality of all information.Provide support and supervision to each resident during leisure programs, using therapeutic interventions as specified while ensuring patient safety.Encourage patient independence as indicated in the resident's care plan, taking into consideration resident's choices and privacy needs during structured group activities and 1:1 programing.Participate in the preparation of the resident's care planning. Review the care plans with the activity coordinator as needed.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITIONEDUCATION:* High school diploma or equivalentCERTIFICATIONS:* Valid driver's license with a good driving recordEXPERIENCE:* 1 year of experience working with seniors in a senior housing setting, adult day program, or nursing home is preferredKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:Ability to work independently with minimal instructionStrong interpersonal and communication skillsBasic Computer SkillsUnderstanding of the senior populationUnderstanding of Dementia and other challengesKnowledge of and ability to practice safe patient handlingWhat we have to offer you:$18 - $20/hr, depending on qualifications and previous experiencePaid Sick Time OffDaily Pay AvailableAbout Us: Family owned and founded on a history of care, The Mary T Family of Companies provides a full continuum of health care services from disability services, senior housing, assisted living, therapy, home health, and hospice care.
