Inventory Team Lead
Summary:
Under general supervision, this position will be responsible for all aspects of inventory, to include but not limited to; order fulfilment, receiving of product, data input. This position will also learn the basic retail store, cashier duties, balloons, and general duties.
Essential Duties:
Assist with the development and review of the company’s inventory management strategies
Ensure all approved product lines remain adequately stocked in balance with sales demands
Manage the purchase order process for all retail and commercial account product demands, including all special orders
Maintain product storage areas in a clean and orderly condition; ensure security and safety of storage areas
Maintain the integrity of the data in and update the company’s Point of Sale (POS) system as needed
Ensure all products are labeled and accurately accounted for in the POS system
Identify and correct any safety hazards due to product display or storage
Identify and execute proper loss prevention strategies
Execute pricing strategies as directed by management
Assist with the integration of the POS system into other company software
Assist with store management and on call duties as needed
Related Duties:
Maintain office supplies for store front
Act in the capacity of a Party Specialist or Team Lead as needed for profitable store operations
Assist in other tasks, duties, or projects as assigned
Knowledge of:
Advanced principles and processes for providing exceptional customer service
Advance knowledge of retail industry operations and best practices
Advanced knowledge of stock and inventory control principles
Advance knowledge of windows based software
Advance knowledge of purchase order systems and procedures
Advance knowledge of Social Media Use
Principles and procedures of record keeping
Occupational hazards and standard safety practices and procedures
Basic accounting principles and processes
Skills:
Ability to maintain, analyze, evaluate and account for inventory
Ability to maintain adequate stock levels
Ability to organize product stock for proper storage
Ability to maintain accurate and organized records and files
Ability to operate windows based software and other standard office equipment. Excel Knowledge and POS Knowledge.
Ability to prepare and reconcile purchase orders
Ability to work under pressure and maintain professional composure
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written directions
Equipment:
Use of computer technology and cash register
Use of multi-line telephone
Use of helium tank
Training and Experience:
Minimum 2 years of retail sales and inventory experience
Formal education in a business-related field
Valid driver’s license
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in crowded environments and/or small or narrow spaces
Ability to remain in a stationary position for 25% of the time
Will need to ascend/descend a ladder to reach products
Frequently communicate with customers and employees
Ability to push, pull or move up to 90 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations
Stooping, standing, walking, moving, carrying, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, fingering, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, typing and feeling
