Network Engineer / Smart Hands (1099 Independent Contractor)Location: Burlington, VT (Onsite)Job Type: Part-Time, Dispatch-Based (1099 Independent Contractor)We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer / Smart Hands to support a scheduled onsite network deployment project. This is a one-time, dispatch-based assignment with opportunities to be considered for future projects based on performance and client requirements.ResponsibilitiesStage and prepare network equipment prior to deployment.Install and rack enterprise network hardware.Perform power and network cross-connects.Verify switchport availability and physical connectivity.Install SFP modules, fiber patch cords, and Ethernet patch cables.Support remote engineering teams during implementation and cutover activities.Validate physical installation and network connectivity.Remove and package legacy equipment for return shipment (if applicable).Capture site photographs and provide completion updates.RequirementsHands-on experience with enterprise networking equipment (Cisco preferred).Experience with rack & stack and Smart Hands/Remote Hands support.Knowledge of structured cabling, fiber connectivity, and Ethernet networking.Basic network troubleshooting and connectivity verification skills.Ability to work independently while following remote engineering instructions.Strong communication and documentation skills.Required Tools (Must Have)Standard installation toolkitLaptop with PuTTY and TFTP Server installedUSB-A to USB-B console cableFour (4) Ethernet/LAN cablesOne (1) crossover cableUSB drive containing the required IOS imageReliable internet connectivity (hotspot, broadband, or Wi-Fi dongle)6-foot ladder
