Tooling Technician
Tooling TechnicianThe Tooling Technician ensures machinery is set up, works properly, and conforms with company quality, quantity, and efficiency standards. They are responsible for the daily maintenance, upkeep and repair of all dies, fixtures and tools. Ensure that dies/sizers are always in working condition. Facilitate tooling set up, movement, and storage for line operators. Maximize rotation and machine up time efficiency through additional tooling needs, machine settings, and prestaging set up plugs to increase pounds manufactured for all lines. This role will be on 12-hour, 2-week rotating schedule.Role and Responsibilities / Essential FunctionsMaximize rotation and machine up time efficiency through planning and organizing of tooling needsMaintain organization of set up and tool and die storageMaintain tooling through proper maintenance channels when requiredDisassemble dies/sizers/mixers to prepare for cleaning, repair and storage in appropriate inventory locationsLight tooling maintenanceMaintenance requests and staging for repair needsMaintain organization of tooling storage locationsVerify and adjust extruders to optimum settings for specific toolingFollow all safety procedures and support all safety projectsRequired Skills / Abilities / CompetenciesPart number readingReading of measurement tools- including tape measure, radius gauge, temp gunExtrusion operationForklift certificateHigh School diploma or equivalent preferredStrong mechanical aptitudeExperience working with machine tools and powered machine tools requiredKnowledge of basic electrical a plusGood communication and judgement skillsValid driver's licenseBilingual English/Spanish a plusEducation and ExperienceMust be legally entitled to work in USHighschool diploma or GED2+ years' experience in manufacturingMental/Physical RequirementsStanding, lifting, bendingDriving a forkliftAbility to lift 50 lbs
