Confidence in presentation-making and the ability to work independently and as a team leader are also vital in this role!Your work will challenge you, and with our Core Values to guide you, you’ll quickly learn and grow with us.Day in the Life: As a Regulatory Compliance Engineer, you will be responsible for providing regulatory compliance support for operations, engineering and projects that occur in your defined support area. Some of those activities include:Coordinating with state and federal regulators to facilitate DOT PHMSA / State Agency inspections Engaging with projects to perform design reviews to ensure DOT 192 / 195 complianceCompletes regulatory DOT 192 / 195 Assurance through internal audits and acquisition integration Reviewing forms and procedures to ensure compliance with regulationsCoordinates accident notifications to National Response Center and completes PHMSA accident reportingResearches regulatory interpretations and identification of possible impacts to the organizationResearches DOT rule-making and state rule-making for incorporations into applicable proceduresResponsibilities/Expectations:Accounts for a diverse range of sophisticated assignments requiring the use of experience, innovation and judgmentMay supervise the work of othersDemonstrates technical expertise in a specialty, geographic area, or operational function and applies specialized knowledge in the effective completion of large-scope projectsPrepares and delivers presentationsAnticipates internal/external customer needs; assesses requirements and identifies solutionsInterprets internal/external business challenges and improves products, processes or servicesCollaborates with teams to ensure compliance, build improvement plans and meet training needsChampions processes, procedures and safety standardsMonitors and controls costs and resources associated with projectsOther duties as assignedEducation/Years of Experience:Required: Bachelor’s Degree in relevant Engineering field from an accredited college or university, OR Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology in a relevant field with Professional Engineer (P.E.) license; A minimum eight (8) years of multifaceted engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industryPreferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and minimum seven (7) years of progressive engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry and PE CertificationOther Requirements:Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as a main priorityProficiency in Microsoft Office Application and PC skillsProficiency in engineering specialties covering more than one subject areaPreferred: Project Management experienceMinimum of 25% travel sometimes with minimal notice, May direct work of other engineers and/or support staff. Activities typically involve assignments of a specialized function or engineering discipline and include technical and economic evaluation, performance testing, design and construction of new facilities, or upgrading existing facilities, and research on new developments.
