With small class sizes and a collaborative approach, we ensure each child receives the care and instruction they need to thrive.Position Overview:Ignite Achievement Academy is seeking a creative, flexible, and student-centered General Electives Teacher for the upcoming school year at our North Campus. This role may include teaching a combination of electives such as art, music, STEM, technology, or other hands-on enrichment courses, depending on the candidate's strengths and experience. If you wish to also be considered for a position at our North Campus, you will need to apply using that separate job posting.Class sizes at IAA are intentionally small, typically ranging from 5-8 students, based on individual student needs. Our students thrive in a highly individualized, supportive environment designed specifically for learners with special needs and learning differences.The General Electives Teacher will design and deliver engaging, hands-on lessons that foster creativity, exploration, and skill development. Instruction should be adapted to meet a wide range of abilities, with an emphasis on participation, self-expression, and building confidence. Lessons may incorporate sensory-friendly approaches, visual supports, and structured routines to ensure accessibility for all learners.This position is located at our North Charlotte campus.Key Responsibilities:Instruction: Plan and deliver personalized instruction tailored to the unique needs of each student in alignment with their academic plan, utilizing the provided curriculum.Collaboration: Work closely with teacher assistants and support staff to provide continuous support and services.Behavioral Support: Implement and monitor behavioral strategies to create a supportive and structured classroom environment that promotes positive behaviors and social interactions.Individualized Academic Plans: Develop, along with the Head of School, implement, and regularly update Academic Plans for each student, ensuring alignment with their specific goals and needs.Assessment: Conduct regular assessments to monitor student progress, adjust instructional methods as needed, and provide detailed reports on student achievements.
