The position offers a mix of office and field work, from leading a team to perform on-site bridge inspections in various locations within NJ. Monitoring project budgets and schedules.Physical ability to perform field work year-round in adverse weather conditions and work around bridges, roads, rail, and tunnelsPhysical ability to carry ladders and gear, work at heights, and work in water with wadersUtilize web-based software to update asset information and generate inspection reports.Assist with bridge design and rehabilitation projects - performing design calculations, estimates, and specifications as well as assist with bridge rating calculations and reports.QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.Experience: Minimum 5+ years of bridge inspection and structural engineeringCertification: EIT required, PE license preferred (or ability to obtain within 1 yr). FHWA-NHI-130055 and additional FHWA Training (Fracture Critical, Moveable Bridge, Tunnel, or Ancillary Structures)Technical Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office. Experienced with MicroStation or other CAD software for roadway design.Knowledge: Knowledge of NJDOT CombIS, AssetWise, National Bridge Elements, and SNBI coding.
