Come work for North America Central where your skills are valued, and your contribution appreciated.Job PurposeUnder limited supervision, the Dispatcher coordinates and dispatches buses to ensure safe, efficient, and on-time service within an assigned geographic area.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee daily routing and scheduling of buses; dispatch vehicles and provide timely route information to driversMonitor service to ensure on-time performance and resolve route or service issues as they ariseCounsel and coach drivers and monitors on frontline service and disciplinary mattersReceive and address scheduling issues and driver concerns; resolve directly with customers when appropriate or escalate to the Operations Supervisor or Contract ManagerManage heavy phone and radio traffic in a fast-paced environmentServe as the primary communication liaison with major contracted customersAssist with charter reservations, billing, driver payroll, licensing monitoring, and driver hiring, as assignedProvide solutions to pick up and drop-off issues and ensure customer satisfactionSupport backup driver coverage or perform clerical duties while buses are in routeComplete special projects as assignedAssist drivers with day-to-day operations and ensure compliance with operating contracts, company policies, and applicable state and local regulationsMinimum Education & CertificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentpreferredPossession of, or ability to obtain, a CDL Operator's License with required endorsements and applicable state or local permits Requirements & ExpectationsMinimum three (3) years of experience in the transportation industryManagerial or supervisory experience preferredCDL may be required based on contractStrong verbal communication and customer service skillsAbility to work early morning hours and meet strict deadlinesBasic knowledge of radio dispatch equipmentAbility to work effectively under time constraints and in high-volume environmentsMaintain a professional and respectful demeanor with employees, customers, and the publicDress professionally and appropriately for a business environmentPerform all job duties safely in accordance with OSHA guidelines and applicable federal and state lawsFollow all company policies and proceduresProficient computer skills, including Microsoft OfficeAbility to use or learn internet-based systems, required software programs, and office equipment (phones, fax machines, and other electronic devices) Why Join Us?Be part of a safety-focused transportation teamPlay a critical role in supporting students, drivers, and school communitiesOpportunity for growth within operations and transportation managementNothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.
