Backend Engineer For Streamlit In SnowflakeSnowflake is revolutionizing how organizations build and deploy data applications by bringing the power of Streamlit directly into the Snowflake Data Cloud. We are seeking a talented Backend Engineer to join our Streamlit in Snowflake (SiS) team, where you'll build the robust infrastructure and APIs that power seamless, enterprise-grade data application experiences running natively within Snowflake's secure, scalable platform.As a Backend Software Engineer on the SiS team, you will work with cutting-edge cloud technologies and distributed systems, including Python, Go, Snowflake's compute infrastructure, and cloud-native architectures. You'll be instrumental in building the backend services and APIs that enable the next generation of data application development tools, allowing organizations to create powerful, interactive applications that scale to enterprise workloads without ever leaving their data warehouse.Your work will directly impact how enterprises worldwide interact with their data, building the performant, secure backend systems that make complex analytics accessible while maintaining Snowflake's hallmarks of security, governance, and performance.Responsibilities:Build industry-leading backend features and APIs that enterprise users and data teams depend on within the Snowflake platformDesign and implement scalable backend services that seamlessly integrate with Snowflake's native compute, storage, and security infrastructureLead projects that span backend architecture, data processing pipelines, and cloud infrastructure within Snowflake's distributed systemPromote strong collaboration within cross-functional teams of Design, Product, Engineering, and Cloud InfrastructureBuild for enterprise scale, performance, and security to serve large organizations and their data workloads, handling high-throughput and low-latency requirementsContribute to the technical architecture and product vision for data application development in the cloudEnsure seamless integration with Snowflake's security model, governance features, multi-tenant architecture, and data isolation requirementsDesign and optimize APIs for performance, reliability, and developer experienceImplement robust monitoring, observability, and error handling for production systemsYou Might Thrive In This Role If You:3+ years of experience building backend systems for enterprise web applications or cloud-based platformsStrong development skills in Python, Go, or Java, with deep experience in cloud-native architecturesProficiency in designing and implementing RESTful APIs, GraphQL, or gRPC services with focus on performance and scalabilityDeep understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and cloud infrastructure patternsExperience with enterprise software requirements including security, governance, multi-tenancy, data isolation, or platform engineeringStrong system design skills, including understanding of scalability patterns, caching strategies, and performance optimizationKnowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hands-on experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure-as-codeExperience with data processing, streaming systems, or working with large-scale data platforms is highly desirableHunger to build exceptional backend systems that scale to enterprise requirements and handle mission-critical workloadsDeep passion for learning and proactively developing new skills, with ability to communicate technical concepts clearly across engineering and business stakeholdersThrive in dynamic environments with evolving priorities, bringing clarity and organization to complex enterprise requirementsUnderstanding of data workflows, analytics tools, and data platform architectures is a plusExperience with security and compliance requirements in enterprise software environments (SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA) is preferredFamiliarity with frontend technologies (React, TypeScript) to collaborate effectively with frontend teams is a bonus
