Senior Tax Accountant Minimum bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. CPA desired, but not required. Immediate position focus on tax. Working with external tax providers and internal accounting team to coordinate sales and use, and income tax filings. Working with sales operations and billing teams to ensure proper sales and use coding based on service and/or product sold.The Senior Tax Accountant role is a highly collaborative and, as such, liaises with senior accounting management advising on tax matters pertaining to business licenses, property tax, annual reports, income/franchise tax, and sales tax. The position will maintain excellent working relationships with external tax accounting firms, working hand-in-hand with these external personnel in coordinating responses and resolution to internal issues, notices from tax authorities, and conducting research. The Senior Tax Accountant will also work with senior finance department personnel to guarantee that there is a thorough understanding of statutory tax requirements and spreading knowledge on legislation regarding the reporting of tax sensitive transactions. The Senior Tax Accountant also performs similar duties as required by the Controller. Preference is for someone close to the Fort Mill SC office but will consider remote for Eastern or Central US based candidates. CPA is required.What We Need & What You'll Do (Responsibilities):Works with sales/order entry organizations assigns SOW tax codes based on taxability research and adds ZipCodes to DIMS (internal product inventory system).Runs monthly data reports for SU compliance and GR calc for business licenses and handles monthly tax balance sheet account reconciliations preparationIssue resolution and updates for Vertex O - Tax category mappingSupports IT in projects of new systems or updates involving tax calculations (latest was DIMS upgrading from Vertex Q to Vertex O)Provides reporting and liaison with our external tax auditors for the provision calculation as well as filing of actual returns (annual income tax)Provides reporting with 3rd party tax consultants for monthly sales and use tax filingsAssists with taxability/tax rate customer questions related to the taxability of an item such as electronically delivered software to CACo-ordinates transfer pricing tasks with accounting manager and outside tax consultantsOther support can include resale certificates to vendors, provide W-9 forms, credit and rebills related to tax adjustments, exemption validation, audit support, compliance, and tax adjustment approvalsEducation and Experience: Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience Accounting or Finance emphasis Minimum 5 years' experience in related fieldCertified Public Accountant (CPA) designation requiredCompetencies: In-depth knowledge of company operations Adaptability Problem Solving Troubleshooting Technical Learning Function/Technical Skills Information Systems: Microsoft Office 0365, Workday, Oracle, MicroStrategy, Vertex O series
