Sr. Mechanical Engineering Technician

Will contribute to the development activities, sustaining needs and transfer of the company's new medical devices. Supports engineers in exercising judgment in building prototypes, developing test methods and conducting tests, collecting data and evaluating against specific criteria and maintaining equipment to implement designs, create technical reports, and ensure product/system functionality. The Engineering Technician is responsible in the areas of mechanical components and assembly build and test. Specific duties include mechanical and electro-mechanical prototyping and testing – thermal, structural, fluidic, and kinematic. Additionally, support mechanical parts procurement, documenting, and drafting if applicable.Key Responsibilities Prototype Development: Assist engineers in building, modifying, and testing prototypes and systems. Including tools/fixtures. Testing & Data: Perform experiments, run diagnostics, and assist with collection/analyzing data for engineering projects. Assure calibration of equipment. Documentation & Reporting: Create detailed lab reports, and project documentation. Support technical drawings/specification changes. Support Design Transfer: Assist with transfer of documentation to manufacturing and engineering activities such as Verification and Validation testing and reporting. Sustaining Engineering: Support sustaining activities related to current products lines with testing, redlining proposed changes.Skills Attention to detail and understanding of engineering test principles Able to meet deadlines and thrive in fast paced environment Ability to work closely with electrical and optical designers Experience with electro-mechanical testing equipment such as Metrology, Thermocouple, Manometer, Tensile and Compression, Sound Meter, Fluid Flow Meters and Sensors, etc. Strong analytical and problem solving abilities Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to lift 40 lbsEducation Requirements High School Diploma Required BA in Mechanical Engineering preferred or similarly applicable Technology Studies Experience Requirements Five (5) years minimum experience in medical device capital equipment development support in areas of prototyping building, testing and reporting. Standard Microsoft Office computer skills including use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams. Complimentary Experience Operating 3D printers, slicer operations, maintaining/troubleshooting 3D printer issues. Working with regulated activities such IEC 60601, ISO 13485 standards Oracle PLM and/or Helix ALM.
