In this role, you'll work hands-on with advanced HVAC and environmental control systems that directly support patient care, clinical operations, and staff well-being. What You'll DoYou will install, maintain, service, and repair a wide range of HVAC and environmental control systems, including: Heat exchangers, chillers, cooling towers, ventilation and exhaust systemsBuilding automation systems (BAS), controllers, and humidity controlsSplit systems, supply and return air ducts, air handling units, and data room cooling systemsKey Responsibilities Install, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems using best practices in refrigeration theory, pipefitting, and electrical controlsRead and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering specificationsMaintain refrigerant inventory and usage documentationMount compressors, condenser units, evaporators, and associated componentsCut, bend, solder, and connect refrigerant tubing and pipingInstall and test expansion, discharge, and control valvesConnect motors, compressors, fans, and control panels to power sourcesTest systems for pressure, vacuum integrity, and refrigerant leaksRepair or replace electrical components such as breakers, thermostats, switches, wiring, and fusesMaintain air handlers, dampers, motors, fans, drain pans, and control panels in clean, operational conditionMonitor and maintain chemical treatment levels in closed-loop systemsPerform lubrication and preventative maintenance per manufacturer and regulatory standardsEnsure all work areas and equipment remain clean, safe, and debris-freeFollow all safety protocols, includingLockout/Tagout (LOTO)proceduresWhat You BringHVAC Certificationthrough one of the following: North American Technician Excellence (NATE)ESCO Institute HVAC Excellence (Professional Level)International Code Council (ICC)Documented Journeyman status through a state or nationally recognized apprenticeshipDD214-documented Level V (or higher) military HVAC trainingEPA 608 Universal Certification(required)High School Diploma or GEDMinimum4 years of HVAC trade experience23 years of experience in healthcare or critical-care facilitiespreferredValid driver's license with insurable driving recordAbility to read, write, and communicate effectively in EnglishAbility to pass drug screening, background check, and obtainNACI clearanceAll required state, federal, or contract-specific licenses and certificationsPhysical RequirementsThis role requires regular standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, and working with hands and tools.
