Mechanical Design EngineerThe Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible to work with a cross-functional team of both internal and external resources to meet project technical, schedule and financial objectives.Primary Functions & ResponsibilitiesUse of Solidworks & AutoCAD to design of custom machineryCreation of Layout and detail drawings -Creation of Bill Of MaterialsMaintaining database of partsPreparing machine and tooling drawings for final documentation submission to customersOverseeing build and assembly of production machinesInterfacing with customers to address their needs and presentation of machine solutionsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities• Advanced understanding of AutoCAD and SolidWorks development techniques from college course work, and on-the-job experience• Ability and willingness to learn about new products and components quickly and effectively in order to meet deadlines and budget restrictionsSpecial Position Requirements• Highly organized• Requires excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to find ways to work under pressure and still make deadlines without cutting corners or endangering the safety of himself/herself or others, or the integrity of the equipment and the employer as a wholeDrawing Programs Used-Solidworks -AutoCAD -Excel -Word -Adobe -SAPMinimum Qualifications• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related Engineering discipline (3+ years of experience working specifically with custom machinery, may be considered in lieu of degree)• 3+ years of experience in the Mechanical Engineering field• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, specializing in custom machines and/or capital equipment• Experience using Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook (required), Excel (Basic level required, Intermediate or Advanced preferred), Word (Basic level required, Intermediate or Advanced preferred), PowerPoint (Basic level required, Intermediate or Advanced preferred)• 3+ years of experience doing designs with AutoCAD, SolidWorks or other design software• 3+ years of experience utilizing SolidWorks 3D software
