Preferred: 3+ years as a Regional/District Sales Manager (leading Sales Representatives or similar), or equivalent combination. Experience in ophthalmics, marketing, managed care, and/or sales training is a plus. Experience building sales teams/organizations from scratch is a strong plus. Must have exceptional talent selection skills, oral and written communication skills, and be well versed in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).Personal Skills & AttributesThis individual must have a passion for building and leading high performing teams that deliver exceptional results. Experienced at coaching and presenting detailed scientific subject matter in a clear and understandable fashion.General Responsibilities & Decision Making AuthorityReports directly to the Area Sales DirectorBuilds and leads a field sales team of Ophthalmic Account ManagersCo-ordinates closely with Sales Operations, Marketing, Market Access and Management to manage a commercial sales teamUtilises sales reports, CRM, and forecasts, and manages sales budgetsCoaches sales team on the model and training needs in coordination with Sales TrainingMeets monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales goalsCollaborates with Human Resources and Management to develop and enforce sales team policies, aligning with Sun corporate policiesExecutes POA and National Sales meetings in partnership with Sales TrainingParticipates in national, regional and local meetingsLeads all regional sales activities including personnel mattersCompensation & BenefitsAnticipated base compensation: $169k – $192k (actual may vary by location and experience). This position is part of the IC Commission Plan.
