Trailer Maintenance Technician

Job Title: Trailer Maintenance Technician Department: Maintenance Country: United States of America Shift Schedule: Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:30pm Job Summary:Join our dynamic maintenance team as a Trailer Maintenance Technician! In this full-time role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the optimal performance and safety of J.B. Hunt trailers and equipment. Your expertise will be essential in troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing trailers, all while upholding the high standards of J.B. Hunt. Key Responsibilities:Utilize your knowledge of preventative maintenance and repair for trailer equipment, focusing on various systems such as engines, air brakes, and onboard computers. Proficiently troubleshoot trailer issues and execute repairs according to company and manufacturer specifications, while understanding standard repair times and warranty guidelines. Mentor and guide new trailer technician trainees through their onboarding process. Engage in Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) training for specialized repairs. Adhere to safety protocols and promote a safe working environment. Maintain effective communication with team members and customers to foster a collaborative work atmosphere. Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:Age 18 or older with 2 years of semi-trailer maintenance and repair experience, or a combination of education and experience. Experience with DOT inspections, FHWA inspections, and air brakes is essential. Willingness to work in various outdoor conditions. Able to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends as required. Preferred Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED with over 2 years of relevant experience. Basic welding skills (MIG and stick). Strong communication skills for effective teamwork and coordination. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively. Comfortable using computers, including Microsoft Office Suite. Physical capabilities to lift/move items weighing up to 50 pounds. Willingness to wear necessary protective gear. Compensation: The expected starting pay range for this position is $23.17 - $34.75. Pay may vary based on skills, experience, and other qualifications.
