This role involves overseeing design, documentation, and coordination while guiding junior engineers and ensuring quality and code compliance.This position offers a strong blend of technical leadership, design responsibility, and collaboration across disciplines. The ideal candidate is a licensed engineer with experience designing plumbing systems for a variety of building types and a passion for sustainable, high-performance design.Key ResponsibilitiesLead plumbing system design from schematic through construction documentation.Create plumbing floor plans, riser diagrams, details, schedules, and sections.Perform plumbing-related calculations including water, waste, vent, and gas systems.Select and specify plumbing equipment and fixtures.Develop construction documents in AutoCAD and Revit.Coordinate with other disciplines (mechanical, electrical, architectural) throughout design and construction.Review shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs during construction administration.Conduct code research, ensuring compliance with state and national plumbing and building codes.Participate in sustainable design strategies and water conservation initiatives.Support project schedules, budgets, and client communication.Mentor junior designers and contribute to team development and best practices.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Plumbing Design Certification.Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required.Minimum 5 years of plumbing design experience in a consulting engineering environment.Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office Suite.Project experience with Large-Scale Healthcare Systems OR Sustainable Multi-family DevelopmentsIn-depth understanding of plumbing codes, energy standards, and building systems.Proven ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate effectively across disciplines.Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.Compensation & BenefitsBase Salary: $90,000 - $165,000 annually (DOE)Total Compensation Package: $100,000 - $180,000+ (including bonuses and benefits)Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance401(k) retirement plan with company matchPaid time off (PTO) and paid holidaysFlexible hybrid work optionsContinuing education, licensing support, and professional development programsCollaborative team culture with a strong emphasis on mentorship and growthWhy Join IPD Engineering?At IPD, you'll work alongside some of the region's top engineers in an environment that values innovation, collaboration, and technical mastery.
