Cross Middle Magnet School JOB SUMMARY:The Dougherty County School System is looking for a Gifted English Language Arts Teacher at Robert A. Cross Middle Magnet School. The ideal candidate will deliver differentiated instruction aligned to the Georgia Standards of Excellence while meeting the unique academic, social, and emotional needs of gifted learners. This role includes collaborating with colleagues, integrating technology, using data to guide instruction, and maintaining strong communication with parents. QUALIFICATIONS: Possess a clear and renewable certificate in Middle Grades Reading and Language Arts; Have the Gifted In-Field Endorsement;Three years of satisfactory teaching experience;Experience teaching higher-level and/or gifted students;5.Capable of developing and implementing challenging curriculum based on Georgia Standards of Excellence;6.Have knowledge and understanding of cognitive, social, and emotional characteristics and needs of gifted learners;Excellent interpersonal skills with parents and colleagues;Ability to collaborate in a team environment;Proficient with technology and appropriate software;Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. SKILLS AND ABILITIES :1.Ability to design and deliver rigorous, differentiated instruction tailored to gifted learners;2.Strong collaboration and communication skills with colleagues, students, and parent 3.Proficiency in using data and technology to enhance instruction and support student achievement. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and implement an enriching and challenging differentiated curriculum appropriate for gifted students;2.Create and maintain a positive, organized and safe learning environment in which gifted students can use their strengths, risk new areas of thought and feel challenged academically;3.Collaborate with other gifted educators to promote instruction in higher-level thinking skills and problem-solving skills;Use a variety of instructional strategies and incorporate best practices for gifted education;Interpret and use data for diagnosis, instructional planning, and program evaluation;Communicate with parents regarding student performance;Integrate technology and other resources into the curriculum to enhance the capabilities of students;Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed by the program.REPORTS TO: Principal SALARY RANGE: Competitive salary and excellent benefits package in accordance with the DCSS Compensation Guide.APPLICATION DEADLINE: Applications will be reviewed upon submission.
